A universal answer with a question to a question

It is considered impolite to answer a question with a question. However, there is a question that is a universal answer.

And it can be especially useful when you do not know the answer to the question you have been asked – or it seems ambiguous and difficult.

The universal answer-question is: «What do you believe in?»

Well, i.e .: — What about X? — What do you believe in?

— I don’t understand, X or Y? — What do you believe in yourself?

— When is X Y Z? — What do you believe about Y Z X?

P.S. Sometimes you just need to be with this question. It may take time to get an answer to it (as well as to any first question that provoked it).
